# Scaling outbound with multiple accounts

Every outbound channel caps per account. The only safe way to increase volume is horizontal — more warmed seats, each under its own ceiling. How to size seat count from a target, and what each seat needs.

**Short answer:** outbound scales **horizontally**. Each seat caps at roughly **20 LinkedIn invites**, **30 Instagram DMs**, or **200 emails** per day. More volume means **more warmed seats**, each with its own ramp, maturity, and network identity.

This is the single most important structural fact about outbound, and the one most tools obscure — because “unlimited” sells better than “20 a day.”

## The per-seat ceilings

Channel

Per seat/day

Per seat/week

LinkedIn invites (free)

~20

~100

LinkedIn invites (Premium)

~35

up to 175

Instagram cold DMs

~30

90–180

Cold email per mailbox

200

~1,000

## Sizing your seat count

1. **Set a weekly contact target.** Say 500 LinkedIn invites.
2. **Divide by the safe per-seat weekly ceiling.** 500 ÷ 100 = 5 seats.
3. **Add one for headroom.** Seats pause — a soft lock, a holiday, someone leaving. Six seats.
4. **Multiply the ramp time.** Every new seat needs ~12 days to reach plateau.

That last step is what teams miss. Six seats do not produce 600 invites in week one. They produce roughly 180, and reach full output around day 14.

## What each seat needs to be its own seat

- **Its own warm-up state.** A mature seat says nothing about a new one.
- **Its own maturity tracking.** Age and action count, per platform, independently.
- **Its own network identity.** Stable and dedicated — shared IPs cluster accounts together.
- **Its own send window.** In that person’s actual timezone.
- **A real person behind it.** Fabricated personas cluster and get actioned as a group.

A tool that tracks a single global counter across seats will overspend the tightest platform and under-use the rest. [Sumora](/) tracks ceilings, maturity, and warm-up per seat per platform, independently — see the [capability table](/capabilities).

## The honest math

Six warmed LinkedIn seats produce roughly 600 invites a week. At a 25% acceptance rate and a 10% meeting rate from accepted, that is about 15 meetings a week. If a vendor’s numbers require one account to send thousands, the plan is not aggressive — it is a description of an account that will be restricted before the quarter ends.

## Frequently asked questions

How many LinkedIn accounts do I need for outbound?

Divide your weekly target by the safe per-seat ceiling. At roughly 100 invites per week per warmed free seat, 500 invites per week needs about 5 warmed seats. Add one more for headroom, since seats occasionally need to pause.

Is using multiple LinkedIn accounts against the rules?

LinkedIn's user agreement expects one account per person. Multi-seat outbound normally means real accounts belonging to real team members, each running its own outreach, rather than fabricated personas. Fake identities are both a policy violation and easy for LinkedIn to cluster and ban together.

Do multiple accounts need separate IP addresses?

Yes. Several accounts operating from one IP or one browser fingerprint is a clustering signal that lets a platform link and action them together. Each seat should have a stable, dedicated network identity rather than a rotating one.
